Before & After {Me}

  I can't even believe that I am posting a before picture of myself on the web but I guess it's gonna have to happen sometime!!  So here is the lovely before...spotty, uneven skin, and under eye bags.

 I curled my hair and played around with different lighting and angles.

I added a little more shadow, darkened my brows and eyelined my inner rim.

(yeah, that's the hubby in the back, I'm sure he is like what the heck are you doing?!  Actually when I was standing in front of the glass screen door trying to get the best lighting, he did say that!!)

  So that's it, I played around with makeup all day today.  All dressed up and no where to go!!!  My sister did come over to play with makeup tonight, so that was fun.  I have some glamour makeup pics to post tomorrow.

  I realized the other day that even though I have been slathering on the SPF 30, I had gotten tan enough to change my foundation color.  I wanted to find the correct undertones for my skin tone and demonstrate that I put 5 swatches of my matte, oil-free foundation on the underside of my arm.  

  

  There is a reason that most women find that finding a foundation color is harder than it looks.  That is because all of these foundation colors are in the warm tones but they are completely different.   The very first foundation color is barely visible on my skin, that is my "winter" color, called Linen.  But they rest of me is a lot darker than this area, so I wanted to go up one shade.  My sister is the 3rd shade, and my mom is the 5th shade.  In order to not have the dreaded foundation line I tested them all on my face and picked the 2nd and 3rd to try on.

 These pictures are a lot closer than I would like but you can see how great this foundation covers.  I have a lot of discoloration on my face and it literally disappears from the cheekbone down when I applied the foundation.  I also applied the foundation on my jawline down to see how it blended into my neck area.

This is the 3rd foundation color (Vanilla Cream), the one my sister and my sister-in-law both wear.  The color was way more visible compared to the 2nd (Tender Beige).  Since this is not the look that I am going for, I chose Tender Beige.  If I feel like my face is looking too light, I just add bronzer and if I continue to darken through out the summer, I can add in a cooler tone to add in a tan color.

  A beautiful bride...this couple was actually married in a small ceremony in Antigua and came back to Virginia Beach to celebrate with their family and friends.

  This year is turning into an exciting time for me and my career.  I had my first mention in one of the best wedding magazines, The Knot.  The wedding that I worked on last year was amazing but I never imagined that it would be published in a magazine!!  I feel so blessed to have been apart of this amazing wedding!

...I can not even tell you how frustrating that is and how many potential clients I may have missed because of those two errors.  I was hoping that after contacting one of the sites about the mistake that it would have been fixed, but no such luck. 

I just contacted a few of my most recent brides to get some of their professional pictures from them.  There is one who went for the red lipstick and with her pale skin and retro styled hair, I can just imagine how amazing she looked!  I can't wait to see them!!
